Services
Underwater Services Built Around Your Vessel.
South Florida's waters are a breeding ground for barnacles, algae, and organisms that attach to your hull in days, requiring routine bottom and running gear maintenance. Left unchecked, growth increases drag, reduces fuel efficiency and can damage antifouling paint down to bare gelcoat. From monthly hull cleaning to propeller repair and zinc replacement, every service is performed by trained divers and documented from start to finish.
Why It Matters
-
Fuel Savings
Even light fouling can increase fuel consumption by 10-20%. A clean bottom pays for itself.
-
Restored Performance
Remove drag-causing growth and restore your yacht's top speed and handling characteristics.
-
Paint Protection
Regular cleaning extends antifouling paint life by preventing hard growth from penetrating the coating.
-
Early Problem Detection
Our divers inspect for blisters, osmosis, damage, and through-hull fitting condition every visit.
-
Running Gear Care
Props, shafts, rudders, and trim tabs cleaned and inspected for wear or damage.
-
Resale Value
A well-maintained bottom signals a well-maintained yacht to buyers and surveyors.
Recommended every 30-45 days in South Florida waters
Warm water temperatures accelerate marine growth year-round.
Included in Every Bottom Clean

Why owners are switching to Trident
The Underwater Service the Industry Has Needed for Years.
Most dive crews scrape and disappear. You get a vague invoice and no idea what was actually done beneath your boat. Trident was built to fix that. Every service is documented, every diver is trained, and every owner knows exactly what happened on their hull.
-
01
Documented Every Time
Photo and video proof of work delivered after every service. You see what we cleaned, what we replaced, and what we found. No guesswork. No invoices for work you can't verify.
-
02
Commercial Divers, Not Weekend Cards
Trident divers train to commercial diving standards covering underwater cutting, welding, propeller work, and saturation diving. Most hull crews carry a recreational certificate and nothing else. We also carry full commercial liability insurance and every required state credential.
-
03
Built for South Florida Growth Rates
The Intracoastal exceeds 90 degrees in summer and is loaded with the nutrients that drive the heaviest barnacle growth in the country. Our schedule, tools, and techniques are built specifically for these conditions, not borrowed from cooler-water playbooks.
-
04
Direct Communication
Text the dive crew. Talk to the owner. Get answers in minutes, not days. No call centers, no rotating contractors, no "we'll get back to you."
-
05
Performance-First Approach
A clean hull is not cosmetic. It is performance. We protect fuel economy, top speed, handling, and the long-term integrity of your running gear, paint, and metal hardware.
About Trident
Led by a Navy SEAL Commander.
Trident Underwater Services was founded by Hans Walsh, who brings more than 40 years of leadership, business, and diving experience to the water. Hans served over 20 years as a Navy SEAL officer, commanding at the SEAL Platoon, Special Operations Task Unit, and Naval Special Warfare Unit level.
As an SDV Task Unit Commander, he piloted and navigated Naval Special Warfare's classified SEAL Delivery Vehicle, a mini wet combat submersible that locks out of submerged nuclear submarines for high-priority clandestine missions. Fully qualified in air, oxygen, and mixed gas diving and a Naval Special Warfare Dive Supervisor, he logged countless hours of bottom time and operated on five continents before retiring in 2006 with the rank of Commander.
Every diver on the Trident crew works to commercial diving standards, with training that spans underwater cutting, welding, propeller replacement, and saturation diving. That is a different league from the recreational certificates most hull cleaners carry.
"Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast. My word is my bond."
The Navy SEAL Ethos
Trident operates every day by these same tenets.
Questions owners ask
Frequently Asked Questions.
- How often should my hull be cleaned?
- In South Florida, every 30 to 45 days. Summer heat speeds up growth, and boats near inlets or in high-current areas may need service every 3 to 4 weeks.
- Will cleaning damage my antifouling paint?
- No. Our divers match the pad to your paint. Soft pads for ablative coatings, firmer pads for hard paints. Routine cleaning actually extends paint life by keeping hard growth from bonding to the surface.
- Do I need to be there for the cleaning?
- No. We coordinate with your marina and service your slip while you go about your day. You get a photo report and condition summary after every visit.
- What about zinc anodes?
- We check your zincs on every dive and report their condition. When an anode is more than half depleted we recommend replacement, and we can install new zincs during a scheduled cleaning.
- Can you clean my bottom before a survey or sale?
- Yes. Our pre-survey clean pairs a thorough hull scrub with a detailed condition report surveyors appreciate. A clean bottom makes a strong first impression on buyers.
